North Technical Academy (GER) hosted informative lunch “Vocational training 4.0”

Kiel – June 19th 2019, the North Technical Academy invited representatives of local metal work businesses to an informative lunch meeting on the topic “Vocational Training 4.0 in regards to the IHK (Chambers of Commerce and Industry) amendments”. Businesses and vocational trainers are faced with new challenges in the training of their apprentices, particularly in the demands of industry 4.0. Often, qualifications as well as resources are lacking.

For this reason the TA engages in providing access to training in additive manufacturing as part of metal worker’s vocational as well as continued education. The newly partially amended IHK occupational profile description for metal workers and how it can benefit businesses and workers was presented by IHK-representative Dorothee Reibisch.

Afterwards the guests of the well-attended lunch were able to ask questions and discuss topics such as: how additional training can provide sustainable added value, why the amended vocational training focusing on industry 4.0 is important, or what kind of options are there for additional training and does the certification process work.
